April 2018 – Since 2014, Mattias Ekström has been competing for points in the FIA World Rallycross Championship (World RX) with his own rallycross team and has made the team a world leader within three years only. In 2018, – thanks to Sonax – the team can be sure to have brilliant performances. The German car care specialist and the team “EKS Audi Sport” now join their forces in the World RX.
March 2018 – Sonax, leading manufacturer of car care products, counts on partnerships with international stars of the MTB community to draw attention to its modernised “Sonax Bike” series. Sam Reynolds, Nicholi Rogatkin and Clemens Kaudela are now the Sonax brand ambassadors to shine in the fascinating downhill and freeride scene.
March 2018 – Sonax, successful manufacturer of cleaning and care products for vehicles and industrial applications, has further expanded its leading market position. Compared to the year before, Sonax GmbH increased the annual sales by 11 % in 2017. The company headquartered in Neuburg on the Danube in Germany achieved a turnover of €115 million in the past fiscal year. “We are very pleased that we could again grow in 2017, even after the extremely successful 2016.
The new “Sonax Xtreme Spray+Protect” spray sealant, for example, is simpler and quicker than any previous paintwork sealing: thanks to intensive development the Sonax R&D experts designed a paintwork sealing that can be applied during the vehicle wash, requiring around five minutes only. The innovative product celebrates its German debut at the 2017 Essen Motor Show.
Sonax is a world leader in the manufacture of high-performance car care products – and also is very popular with motorsports fans around the globe. This also appeals to drift icon and rallycross pro Ken Block. The star of the spectacular “Gymkhana” videos will set the stage for the Sonax logo in the future.
26 October 2016 – At SEMA Show 2016 – the world’s largest trade fair for car accessories, refinement and sporty individual cars – Sonax presents many innovations from November 1-4. Particularly for professional users Sonax has plenty to offer.
13 April 2016 – Winning the readers’ survey of the magazines “Auto Bild” and “Motor Klassik” confirms the excellent reputation of the car care specialist from Neuburg on the Danube. Prior to this, Sonax won the readers’ choice of the magazines “auto motor und sport”, “Auto Zeitung” and “Motorsport Aktuell”.
15 March 2016 – The leading German manufacturer of premium car care presents an interesting addition to its range of powerful car care products 2016. The novelties include the Sonax Headlight Restoration Kit.
10 February 2016 – The test ofthe German magazines “Auto Bild Sportscars” and “Auto Bild” in co-operationwith the German Society for Technical Inspection (GTÜ) put six modernpolymer-based paintwork sealing products on trial. Sonax Xtreme Protect+Shine scored thehighest rating and came off as test winner.
For the second time now, the car care specialist Sonax has been acclaimed as “Brand of the Century”. Only every three years, a high-ranked jury of the publishing house “Deutsche Standards Editionen” awards the cross-sectoral prize to German brands that represent their industry in a unique way.
November 2015. At SEMA Show 2015 – the world’s largest trade fair for car accessories, refinement and tuning – Sonax will be the only car care manufacturer to wave the “Made in Germany” flag.
August 2015. Ten insect cleaners have been put to the test by “auto motor und sport” magazine. The Sonax Insect Star has rated very highly, displaying top cleaning effectiveness in the practical test, and the lowest price per litre, prompting testers to give an overall verdict of “highly recommended”.
August 2015 – Sonax Xtreme Polish & Wax 2 hybrid NPT is the clear test winner in the product comparison of the German car magazine “auto motor und sport”.
On 11 May 1949, the Sonax brand was registered and legally protected. And in 1950, the company began to pioneer the development and manufacturing of car care products.
When Manfred Hoffman senior and his father took the entrepreneurial venture of manufacturing a car polish, the success was not at all certain. Inventiveness, a keen feel for market situations and excellent products played a major role in their success: today, Sonax GmbH in Germany employs around 350 people and, in 2014, yielded a turnover of approx. € 90million.
May 2015 – For the tenth time in succession SONAX has won the readers poll of German motoring magazine „auto motor und sport“. More than 55 percent of readers have had positive experiences with the products of the German company.
Together with the Auto Club Europa (ACE), the Society for Technical Inspection (GTÜ) compared ten windscreen cleaners for the winter – five concentrates and five ready-to-use mixtures. Test winner was Sonax Antifreeze & Clear View Concentrate achieving the overall rating “highly recommended”.
At the SEMA Show 2014, North Hall booth #12469, the team of German car care specialists once again brought exciting product innovations to the U.S. and Canada. The fascinating innovations are perfect additions to the extensive range of powerful car care products that exceeds the highest demands of car owners throughout the world.
With the commissioning of a new building complex for the expansion of the production and warehouse capacities, Sonax is pressing ahead with its expansion activities on the own premises. For the expansion, the producer of car care, cleaning and maintenance products for industrial applications invested an amount reaching into the tens of millions.
Offering innovative professional products and a one-stop shop for paintwork finish and professional car valeting, Sonax has won many customers in vehicle servicing in recent years. In 2013, this business field grew by 25 per cent over the previous year. The product range has been refined continuously, presenting some interesting novelties in 2014.
Sonax wins readers’ polls of “Auto Bild”, “auto motor und sport”, and “Auto Zeitung”.When it comes to care and maintenance of cars, the absolute majority of the readers of “auto, motor und sport” say that Sonax is their clear favourite.

With Sebastian Vettel’s fourth World Champion triumph, Sonax adds another chapter to its success story as supplier to Formula 1. It is the third season already, that the enterprise accompanied Sebastian Vettel’s successful team Infiniti Red Bull Racing as “Official Supplier”. And in February, Sonax and the Championship Team agreed to partner for another two years.
