Sonax motor sport partners shine at the start of the season
Sonax motor sport partners – Infiniti Red Bull Racing in Formula 1 and BMW Motorsport in the DTM – are title favourites for the 2013 motor sport season following the successes of last year.
As the “official partner” of the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team for a second year, Sonax ensures the racing cars driven by Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber shine in Formula 1. In the DTM, Bruno Spengler and the BMW Motorsport drivers make sure the spotlight is on the Sonax logo in 2013 too. While the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team has already been able to celebrate initial successes in Australia and Malaysia, BMW Motorsport is now ready to launch its mission to defend its title. 2013 sees four BMW teams battling for points and victories in the popular touring car series.
In addition to the BMW Schnitzer team and the RBM and RMG teams, the newly formed MTEK team will also be bringing two BMW M3 DTMs onto the racing track. Dutch-born Ernest Knoors is the boss of the team, which is based in Garching near Munich. One of the two BMW M3 DTMs used by the BMW MTEK team is driven by Timo Glock, who has long proven his driving pedigree in 91 Formula 1 races. The second DTM newcomer is Marco Wittmann, who has in this season risen from test and development driver at BMW Motorsport to become the team’s regular DTM driver. Producing top-quality times at the first official DTM training session in Spain, Marco Wittmann has already made a name for himself. Sonax has been supporting BMW Motorsport as team sponsor since its successful DTM comeback in 2012, which was crowned by Bruno Spengler’s title win.
The Sonax logo is prominently positioned on the BMW M3 DTMs of all BMW teams on the bonnet and on the front wing. Before the new DTM season begins at the Hockenheimring on 5 May, Sonax partner Infiniti Red Bull Racing is competing in the Formula 1 races in China and Bahrain. Above all, the competition within the team ought to be exciting. Will Sebastian Vettel dazzle with his second victory or will Mark Webber outshine his team mate to win the race? On 14 April this question will be answered on the Shanghai International Circuit.
