Starting excitingly into the season, Sonax’s motorsports partners are in the lead
After its magnificent one-two at the opening race of the DTM season in Hockenheim, Germany a fortnight ago, BMW Motorsport was back on the podium at round two of the series at Brands Hatch, UK. Bruno Spengler, at the wheel of the BMW Bank M3 DTM, finished runner-up behind Audi driver Mike Rockenfeller. Marco Wittmann and Joey Hand claimed their best DTM results to date, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. Before the upcoming race in Spielberg, Austria, reigning champion Bruno Spengler is only one point behind Mike Rockenfeller, thus having the opportunity to regain the lead on 02 June. In the team rankings, BMW Team Schnitzer with Bruno Spengler and Dirk Werner in the cockpits and Sonax logo on the car front has the leading position, closely followed by BMW Team RBM, another team of Sonax’s partner BMW Motorsport.
In the Formula 1, the competition is stronger than it has been for a long time. After six races, the top pilots’ rankings are so close that each race may stir up the order entirely. Completing an exciting race in Monaco, Sonax’s motorsports partner Infiniti Red Bull Racing with Sebastian Vettel remains first in the drivers’ ranking. The race on the track on the Mediterranean was not the big success for Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. However, Infiniti Red Bull Racing could expand its lead in the constructors’ championship, just as World Champion Vettel could in the drivers’ ranking.
