Sonax increases annual sales to €115 million

Sonax, successful manufacturer of cleaning and care products for vehicles and industrial applications, has further expanded its leading market position. Compared to the year before, Sonax GmbH increased the annual sales by 11 % in 2017. The company headquartered in Neuburg on the Danube in Germany achieved a turnover of €115 million in the past fiscal year. “We are very pleased that we could again grow in 2017, even after the extremely successful 2016.

All business units still provide strong growth impulses – nationally and internationally,” explains Manfred Hoffmann, Owner of the Hoffman Group of Companies and Managing Partner of Sonax GmbH. “In addition to the continuously brilliant development in the European market, this excellent result can primarily be attributed to a dynamic growth in Asia, South America, and the US. We have developed new markets, opened up new target groups, and secured many customers.”

For the third year in the row, Sonax has been able to also increase national sales by more than 10 %, although the total market for DIY car care products hardly grew compared with the previous year. “Here, it particularly payed off that Sonax could successfully position a series of interesting new products for different areas,” adds Manfred Hoffmann. Cleaning and care products for carwash facilities and the broad range of professional car valeting could, for example, benefit. But also with its special solutions for industrial companies and workshops Sonax could score points – for example, with its customised programme for agricultural operations.

Daniel Ott, Director Marketing and Sales: “Another factor of success is customer proximity: in 2017, we were present at around hundred trade fairs and events – often together with our trade partners, who deserve our sincerest thanks. We will continue along this path and promote activities at all levels, for our partners to benefit from the high demand for Sonax products more than ever before. In 2018, we will invest in extensive marketing activities with great reach to approach existing and new clients.” Here, the focus is on all relevant target groups: “To address young clients interested in motorsports, we will continue our co-operations with prominent brand ambassadors, such as TV presenter J.P. Kraemer as well as internet star and drifting icon Ken Block. And as partner of the Austrian Ski Association, we have also been highly visible in the winter sport coverage since the start of this season. Further sponsoring partnerships, not only in motorsports, will cause a great stir in 2018 – you will be surprised.”

March 2018 – Sonax, leading manufacturer of car care products, counts on partnerships with international stars of the MTB community to draw attention to its modernised “Sonax Bike” series. Sam Reynolds, Nicholi Rogatkin and Clemens Kaudela are now the Sonax brand ambassadors to shine in the fascinating downhill and freeride scene. 
The new “Sonax Xtreme Spray+Protect” spray sealant, for example, is simpler and quicker than any previous paintwork sealing: thanks to intensive development the Sonax R&D experts designed a paintwork sealing that can be applied during the vehicle wash, requiring around five minutes only. The innovative product celebrates its German debut at the 2017 Essen Motor Show.
Sonax is a world leader in the manufacture of high-performance car care products – and also is very popular with motorsports fans around the globe. This also appeals to drift icon and rallycross pro Ken Block. The star of the spectacular “Gymkhana” videos will set the stage for the Sonax logo in the future.
